2024 Coaches Meeting – Tee Ball / Instructional

1. Andrew passed out rules
2. Brian introduces himself and attending board members
3. Remember we are here for the kids and here for fun
4. Link for safey manual to all coaches on website – Safety is NUMBER ONE GOAL

   2. Complete BASE Abuse training
   3. Background checks must be completed
   4. Coaches must familiarize themselves with the manual
   5. Coaches must provide and have medical release form completed by parents
   6. Forms must be signed
   7. Board will take copy of signed form on file
   8. There will always be a board member on site
   9. Form must be completed if there is an injury
   10. There may not be a board member present during practices
       1. Gather as much information as possible
       2. Names
       3. Ages
       4. Contact Brian @ 317-627-7077
   11. No hitting into fences
   12. Our insurance is a secondary insurance – parents insurance first then ours
5. Rain delay/storm information – if games are called all must exit facilities
   1. Light system will help with notifying patrons
   2. We will do our best to notify by 4pm or earlier
   3. If you don’t hear from us, games will be played
   4. We will do our best to get games in
6. Softball diamond / Minor and Major
   1. Fields must be raked after games are completed
   2. The more help the better the diamonds
7. Tee Ball / Instructional
   1. Fill holes if there are holes
8. Andrew discusses instructional rules
   1. Rules distributed to all volunteers present
   2. One adult in dug out at all times
   3. Easy rule to follow, when fielder has control of ball – call dead ball
   4. Saturdays only until Memorial day then a game through the week
   5. Laminated copy of rules will be in dugout
   6. If you have a pitchers helper, you must have a helmet with facemask
   7. Tee will be on site during practice

   2. Pitching to be introduced to tee ball – only 3 pitches
   3. One adult in dug out at all times
   4. Saturdays only until Memorial day then a game through the week
   5. Laminated copy of rules will be in dugout
10. If coaches or volunteers think of an improvement, please let us know
11. Knot Hole club membership
    1. If there are questions – contact Indians
    2. For every adult ticket purchased kids get in free or at a discounted price
    3. They can get a t shirt from the Indians and they can run the bases
12. We don’t do a fundraiser – we make our money from our concessions
    1. Buy treat tickets
    2. Recommend parents help purchase them
    3. Board has not set treat tickets price but will soon
    4. The money goes back to league
13. There will be a concession schedule for each team to help for a shift
14. 10am earliest start time for games on Saturday
15. 6pm earliest start time for games through the week
16. If you have issues with parents
    1. Not your responsibility to deal with that
    2. Please reach out to a board member with issues
17. Practice will be through the week
    1. Lockbox on fences – code provided
    2. First aid kit will be in back on concessions key opens
    3. Make sure key is returned
18. Expectation should be parents stay during practices and games
    1. If there is an issue contact a board member
