Safety and Items for Discussion

Parent, Volunteers, Coaches

Safety is important to us at Southport Little League.  There are few items we need to address after the first two weeks of the season. We want everyone to have fun, but more importantly, we want everyone to be SAFE!

  1. Pitcher’s Helper MUST have a helmet with a face guard.NO EXCEPTIONS. Contact a board member if you need a helmet with a face guard
  2. Only players AT BAT are allowed to have a bat in their hands. NO EXCEPTIONS. Even if a player is ON DECK, they are not allowed to have a bat in their hands.
  3. Coaches may “coach or give instruction” from the dugout of the base coach area. Volunteers/Coaches or ‘catcher’s helper’ may give instruction from behind home plate and NOT inside the field of play, especially while the ball is in play (This applies to MINORS ONLY)
  4. Please make sure any volunteer helping has a completed background check.  Contact a board member if you have any questions.
  5. Concession Stand Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and a hat or hairnet
  6. Please monitor your game time and make every attempt possible to keep the pace of the game going.
  7. After each game, home plate and base paths should be raked, holes filled, and smoothed for the next game
Thank you for your help!
